Frequently Asked Questions — SASSA Grant Amounts 2026

When did the 2026 grant increases start?

All increases took effect on 1 April 2026

Will grants increase again later in 2026?

No second increase has been announced.

Does the SRD R370 grant increase in 2026

No. It remains R370 for the year.

Can I receive more than one SASSA grant at the same time?

In most cases, no. SASSA only allows one social grant per person, except for Grant‑in‑Aid, which can be added on top of another grant if you require full‑time care.
You cannot receive two main grants at once (for example, Disability + Older Persons, or Child Support + SRD).
If you qualify for more than one, SASSA will approve the grant that gives you the highest monthly amount.

Do SASSA grants expire?

No. Your money stays in your account until you withdraw it.
